Goodbye 2011 -- Hello 2012

After tomorrow maybe there will be winter weather here in MD.

Today I tried a couple of yummy new recipes from friends -  Black bean salad and sugared cranberries.
The  Christmas tree came down and the gone skiing sign went up on the front door.

I also just put in my first order for supplies in 2012.  I do odd jobs when bored:-)

But I can't stop -- there is no snow anyway

I find that I deal with frustration by making something with color, shape and pattern.  That is my story and I'm sticking with it

So here are the next versions of my pins.
They are hand forged aluminum and brass wire

I really need to stop

It seems that the penannular and fibula pins have captured by interest and they won't let go.

Here are the latest.

A car engine really needs antifreeze

Today was the day to catch up on errands.  Driving out of Home Depot the car started to put out a stream of smoke/steam.  Yep, a leak in the hose.  So we drove, coasted, paused our way home.

It could have happened in a much worse place or time but out front of the house would have been nice.

We are good to go now.

Serious ski mode

Now it is  time to dig out the ski gear, plan our share of the menu, map the route and get in a little exercise.

Change is alway difficult but when it is into ski mode..... not all that bad!

Tomorrow - Holiday Mart

With mixed feelings I head out tomorrow morning for my last show of the year. (see the earlier post for details).

I look forward to seeing lots of former and new shoppers.  The weather is looking good and I have lots of new designs to offer.  Hopefully, this will be the grand finale.

Sunday I will be at the Harford Artists Gallery 12-4

A change of pace

Just four days until the last art/craft show.

Then is it time to pull out the ski clothes and map the drive to VT.   Projam starts Dec. 12th.

I am hoping that Roundtop Mountain Resort opens before the trip so I can find my ski legs first.

It looks like my new skis are going to miss the trip but they should be ready when I get back.

I still find time to try some new ideas.  Here is a shawl/scarf/sweater/coat pin:

Thanksgiving choice

The debate was a full sized turkey or just the turkey breast.  This year is going to be a full but small turkey - 14 pounds that is.

The aroma of the cooking bird is what I'm after.  Having a stash of leftovers is also a plus.
Then on Friday and Saturday it is off to the second to last craft show in 2011.

Another result of my time with Maggie Maggio
Based on art of Cezanne

Playing color with Maggie Maggio

What could be better than this!
Four days playing color with Maggie Maggio is the best.

My new bracelet based on colors of a caftan and quilt.

My copy showed less fuchsia
but I still like the results

To clean or create??

The dust is not too thick.  I really want to sort through my larger beads and try some fibula pins.
Maybe I will clean a bit then count that as done and go create.

Fall is fun

Multi colored landscape here is amazing!  Walks in the cool air with the bright sun in your eyes - what could be better?

There are three more art/craft shows and four days with Maggie Maggio.
Then thoughts will turn to snow and skis.

Recovery time

Thanks to all who supported the artists at the Harford Day Art Festival.
Now it is time to rest up and make sense of the inventory.

I have until Friday when I head out to Maggie Maggio's four day workshop:-)  It will be inspiring to share quality time with others who share my passion.

Ready or not

With four great shows in the future it is "ready or not" time.

This Sat. Nov. 5th is the Harford Day School Art Festival.
It is free to enter with great art to experience.

Cold - rainy weekend

I guess we can't have perfect weekend weather every week.  But it sure would be nice.  I'm skipping the farmer's market in Bel Air but hoping to get there one more time on Nov. 12th.

Nov. 5th I will be at the Harford Day School Art Fair
Hope to see you there.

Sounds like a full weekend!

Oct. - on the move

I just returned from a fantastic visit with family in Indiana.  There were sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, nephews, lots of kids, and a brother-in-law.  The weather was perfect for the wedding and visits.

It was great to catch up on the details that don't make it to emails or phone calls.

Now back to "normal".  There is so much to catch up with.  But I don't have a real deadline so I can get it done as needed.
